Don Santo Manifestos
My name is Veiko Vladimir Valencia Pacheco. I was born in 1983 in the city of Arequipa, Peru. I am currently living and working in Boise, Idaho, US. My city Arequipa was and still is a prison of limitations in terms of art. That’s why as a kid I never went to an art museum. All the images that I saw about art came from an USSR magazine called Sputnik or the paintings in my local Catholic Church. My art education started in an Art School in my city of Arequipa. It was a rigorous method: the first year was all about Still Life, the second year Landscapes, and the last years Human figure. After studying there for three years I moved to the US to continue my art education. Once that I was done with my Bachelors and Masters degree I realized that my art education in Peru taught me the question of ‘how to make art’ and the US taught me of ‘why to do art’.
